About the retreat
Organized by poet and events creator Cynthia Good, join extraordinary author Kim Addonizio who will be co-teaching with Tracey Knapp. Tracey, author of two fine poetry collections: Mouth and the forthcoming Swerve, and Kim taught together last summer at the La Romita School in Italy. You will receive feedback from both of them in every workshop. This is a combination writing retreat and luxury vacation. Cynthia Good is an award-winning poet, journalist and former TV news anchor. She is the author of two collections of poems, In The Thaw of Day and What We Do with Our Hands. She has written eight books including Vaccinating Your Child, which won the Georgia Author of the Year award. Cynthia’s poems have appeared or are forthcoming in numerous acclaimed publications. Cynthia has launched two magazines, Atlanta Woman and the nationally distributed PINK magazine for women in business. For two decades she held world-class events featuring America’s top female corporate leaders. She is the mother of two extraordinary men, Alden and Julien, and she lives in Baja and Santa Monica with her Havanese dog named Zuni.
Kim Addonizio is the author of eight poetry collections, two novels, two story collections, and two books on writing poetry: The Poet’s Companion (with Dorianne Laux) and Ordinary Genius. Her poetry collection Tell Me was a finalist for the National Book Award. She also has two word/music CDS: Swearing, Smoking, Drinking, & Kissing (with Susan Browne) and My Black Angel, the companion to My Black Angel: Blues Poems and Portraits, a collaboration with woodcut artist Charles D. Jones. Her poetry has been translated into several languages including Spanish, Arabic, Italian, and Hungarian. Collections have been published in China, Spain, Mexico, Lebanon, and the UK. Addonizio’s awards include two fellowships from the NEA, a Guggenheim, two Pushcart Prizes, and other honors.
Tracey Knapp's second collection, Swerve, is forthcoming from Pine Row Press in Spring 2026. Her first full-length collection of poems, Mouth, won the 42 Miles Press Poetry Award and was published in 2015. Tracey has received awards and scholarships from La Romita School of Art in Terni, Italy, the Tin House Writers’ Workshop, and the Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fund. She has taught creative writing and poetry in Ohio, Boston, and Italy. Her work has appeared in Cream City Review, The Pinch, Best New Poets, Poetry Daily, Rattle, Five Points, New Ohio Review and elsewhere. She has been nominated for Best of the Net and two Pushcart prizes. Originally from Upstate New York, Tracey lives in the Bay Area of California.
